The Challenge

A Malta-based financial services group operated twenty-three production applications across ageing on-premises servers with limited disaster recovery capability. Hardware refresh costs were escalating, scaling for peak periods required weeks of lead time, and the IT team spent the majority of their capacity on infrastructure maintenance rather than business-enabling projects.

Our Approach

redskios conducted a cloud readiness assessment across all twenty-three applications, categorising each for lift-and-shift, re-platform, or re-architect migration strategies based on technical compatibility, business criticality, and modernisation benefit. We designed an Azure landing zone with enterprise governance controls and planned the migration in four phased waves, starting with the lowest-risk workloads.

The Solution

We delivered a complete migration to Azure across four waves over five months. The Azure environment included a Well-Architected landing zone with network segmentation, Azure Active Directory integration, Key Vault for secrets management, and infrastructure as code with Terraform. Applications were deployed to Azure App Service, Azure SQL, and Azure Kubernetes Service depending on their architecture. CI/CD pipelines were established for all migrated workloads, and Azure Monitor provided unified operational visibility.
